Goings on...

So I has back surgery on 1/26. It went really well. The recovery process was much shorter than I thought that it would be. I was essentially back on my feet in a few days. Update 1.

I spent a week in Colorado: Breckenridge and Vail. It was fantastic. I was glad that I was healed enough to actually go big mountain skiing. We had a hell of a good time.

We arrived on 2/7 in the early afternoon after 15 or so hours on the road. Nebraska in the dark is a treat. I skied Sunday and Thursday in Breck and Tuesday in Vail. I can't describe how huge Vail is. It took me 45 minutes to get from the middle of the resort to Lionshead Village. Yikes.

Anyway, I had an excellent time. I'm looking forward to next year, wherever we go. That's provided I can go. We're planning our honeymoon for just about this time next year, so we'll see how it goes. Update 2.

On tap for this weekend: Annual Lutsen trip. It should be just as big of a riot as it was last year. You're jealous. I'm sure I'll have a fantastic story of Charles sleeping with towels...As per usual.

The holidays

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I don't have much. I'm making a foray in to the world of the Blackberry. I'll post more about it in the next week or so after I've had time to play around with it.

Lunch o' Death

So we had an end of the year team lunch today at Buca. I haven't eaten that much since Thanksgiving. I feel like I'm going to literally explode. I had to order the penne all'arrabbiata for two reasons:
1) I've never had it before, and
2) It's a central theme in the "Death Star Cantina" bit by Eddie Izzard.

It's always interesting, if not down-right entertaining to go "out" with co-workers. You always end up hearing stories that probably shouldn't be told or you end up being in a story that shouldn't be told.

I'm going to play bingo tomorrow after work. Hopefully I can carry my winning streak over to bingo from pull tabs. I won $105 on Friday night. Paid for the night.

Why not?

Not that anyone cares, but I decided to jump on this blog bandwagon about 8 years too late. Such is life.

This won't be about anything in particular, just random musings, things that interest, confuse and irritate me. Of course the moment that I decide to start this, I can't think of anything to post...

Have I been living under a rock for the past 6 months? Where did this Caylee Anthony story come from? Do I just not pay attention? Why is this such a huge story? I think that this sort of thing happens more often than people think, sadly, so why does this particular case make national headlines?

Who honestly cares of Biden or Obama gets a bloody dog? Does this have any bearing on how they're going to run the country?

Why was T.D. Mischke fired? Who fired him? He was one of the most unique radio pesonalites. EVAR. He was the reason that I started listening to talk radio. I remember staying up late in high school to listen to his show from 10-midnight. He was so different from anything else on KSTP or WCCO. I hope that another station gives him a chance. If they do, I really hope that they'll allow him to make his brand of radio and not try to stick a square peg in a round hole.

Where do the bail-outs end?

Are we 100% positive that Omar Epps and Mike Tomlin are two different people?

In regards to C.C. Sabathia: I'm setting the over/under of what he'll weigh come February when he reports for pitchers/catchers at 295.

What can I do to successfully replace Jeff Probst? That man has the greatest job in the world.
